Welcome to Mojingo. Our mission is to solve momentary loneliness by helping you forge instant, safe, and meaningful platonic connections in the real world. Your safety is not just a feature; it is the foundation upon which our entire community is built. We understand that meeting someone new requires trust, and we have designed Mojingo from the ground up with your security as our highest priority. This statement outlines our commitment and the tools we provide to empower you to connect with confidence. We see safety as a shared responsibility, and this document is our pledge to provide you with a secure environment and the information you need to make smart choices.
A safe experience begins with knowing that the people you connect with are genuine. We have implemented robust measures to foster a community built on authenticity and respect.
To join Mojingo, every single user must verify their identity using a one-time password (OTP) sent to their mobile number. This is a non-negotiable step. This 100% verification process is crucial because it significantly deters the creation of fake or anonymous accounts, increases user accountability, and ensures that every profile on Mojingo belongs to a real person. This practice aligns with our commitment to creating a trusted ecosystem and is a foundational element of our security framework.
We provide secure, end-to-end encrypted in-app chat, voice, and video call features. We strongly encourage you to use these tools to get to know someone before you decide to meet in person. This creates a "digital handshake"—a crucial buffer that allows you to build a rapport and gauge your comfort level in a secure environment. We advise you NOT to share personal contact information, such as your phone number, email address, or other social media profiles, until you feel completely comfortable and have established a baseline of trust. Keeping your conversations on our platform until you meet ensures your personal details remain private and allows you to use our reporting and blocking tools if needed.
We have equipped the Mojingo app with proactive safety features designed to give you more control and peace of mind during your meetups.
You have the option to share your live location with a trusted contact (such as a friend or family member) for the duration of your meetup. This feature can be easily enabled for any specific meetup. When activated, it sends a secure, temporary link to your chosen contact, allowing them to see your location in real-time on a map. Mojingo does not see who you share your location with, giving you complete control over this safety net. This is a powerful tool to keep your personal network informed and add an extra layer of security to your experience.
If you ever feel unsafe or are in an emergency during a meetup, you can use the in-app SOS button. This is more than just a panic button; it triggers an immediate, multi-layered response:
Connect with Police: It gives you the option to instantly dial the national emergency number (112) to connect with local police.
Alert Your Contacts: It sends an alert, along with your live location, to your pre-selected emergency contacts.
Alert Our Team & Law Enforcement: It simultaneously sends a real-time alert to our 24/7 safety response team and, where integrated, directly to the local police control room. This alert includes your profile details, the details of the person you are meeting, and your precise GPS location to facilitate a rapid response.
This direct integration with law enforcement, modeled on successful safety initiatives in India, is designed to provide immediate support when every second counts. By using this feature, you are consenting to share this critical information with law enforcement for the purpose of emergency response.
To minimize high-risk situations and prioritize the well-being of our community, Mojingo has a platform-wide safety curfew. The arrangement of new meetups in private venues (like a residence) is prohibited via the app after 10:00 PM local time. You can still arrange to meet in public, well-lit venues (like cafes or restaurants) after this time, and meetups that were arranged before 10:00 PM are not affected. This policy is a proactive measure designed to encourage safer interactions within the community.
Creating a safe community requires everyone to do their part. We provide the tools, but we also rely on you to use them wisely and help us uphold our community standards.
Mojingo is a platform for platonic companionship. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any behavior that violates this spirit. This includes, but is not limited to: harassment, discrimination, hate speech, spam, nudity, romantic or sexual solicitation, financial scams, or any illegal activities. Users found engaging in such behavior will be permanently banned from the platform. We expect all users to interact with respect, kindness, and decency.
If a user's behavior makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, or if they violate any of our policies, you can immediately Block them to prevent any further contact. You can also Report them directly through the app. Our dedicated Trust & Safety team reviews every report and takes swift, appropriate action. Your reports are confidential and are essential for keeping the community safe for everyone.
If something feels off, it probably is. Don't ignore red flags or pressure yourself to meet someone if you're not comfortable. Your safety comes first.
Always choose busy, well-lit public locations for your first few meetings. Coffee shops, restaurants, malls, or public parks are great options.
Let a friend or family member know where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to return. Share your location if possible.
Don't share your home address, workplace, or other personal details until you've built trust over multiple meetings.
Avoid excessive alcohol consumption during your first meetings. You want to stay clear-headed to make good decisions.
Know how you'll leave if you feel uncomfortable. Have your own transportation or know the public transport options.
